Our Symbolic Logo Represents
The Qalam (meaning the Pen) is at the helm of our logo, epitomizing the spirit of education at Burhani College.
We take inspiration from the first verses of the Holy Quran, revealed by the Almighty to the Prophet Mohammed SAW , enjoining the Prophet to ‘READ’, extolling:
“He has taught by the pen; taught man what he knew not.”
In the Fatimid Philosophy, from which the college derives inspiration, the Qalam is the loftiest source of all knowledge and education. The seas of eternal and immortal knowledge flow from it.
The logo, with the word Al-Qalam calligraphed in the shape of a pen. illuminates the path of true knowledge, encouraging seekers to read and write.

Discover the Legacy of Burhani College
Established in 1970, Burhani College is a Commerce, Liberal Arts, Management Science and Life Skills College located in the heart of Mumbai, India’s largest city and financial capital of the country. Our founder, the 52nd Dai al-Mutlaq, and head of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed BurhanuddinRA, showed us the path that has helped us form and traverse the vows encapsulated in our mission and vision. Since 2014, his noble successor, the 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq and head of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal SaifuddinTUS, continues this great legacy of educational excellence.
Burhani Education Society
Burhani College is managed by Burhani Education Society, a registered society which was founded by Syedna Mohammed BurhanuddinRA in 1969 with the aim of “imparting education in all fields and branches of learning and knowledge irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.” The founding of Burhani College continues an over 1400 year history of the Dawoodi Bohra Community as champions of education and learning among Islamic communities.
Our courses cover a Junior College in Commerce and Arts, a Degree College leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Management Science, Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media and Communication and Master of Commerce, and Certificate courses in vital life skills under the Sciences of the Home program.

Our Inspiration
We work towards shaping the minds of our students to become better human beings with a higher intellect for a better tomorrow. We heralded the quiet completion of our 50th year in July 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 global pandemic. Yet, we continue to be optimistic about our future and remain committed to the cause of knowledge and learning and helping students from all walks of life to achieve their goals in the 21st Century through innovation, leadership & entrepreneurship.

Located in the heart of central Mumbai, amidst what can be called an educational enclave, within walking distance of the Byculla and Dockyard Road train stations, Burhani College has been offering quality education with an Islamic perspective, for over 50 years. The College’s pluralistic approach ensures an environment that is congenial for learning and nurtures the development of mind, body and soul.
